TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Imam Samudra aka Abdul Aziz, the main suspect in the Bali bombing case, can be tried anywhere, according to National Police chief Gen. Dai Bachtiar . He can be tried in Batam, Jakarta, Denpasar, according to the cases hes involved in, Bachtiar told reporters after attending a coordination meeting on political and security affairs at the Ministry of Political and Security Affairs in Jakarta on Thursday (2/1). According to the National Police chief, the first case to be taken to court this January is the one involving Amrozi, another suspect of Bali bombing. This will immediately be carried out as Amrozi is targeted to be tried soon. Bachtiar said that on Wednesday (1/1), he and Attorney General MA Rachman went to Bali to instruct police detectives and prosecutors on the case. This way, the procedures can be carried out faster than usual, he stated. According to Bachtiar, the main target in the bombing case investigation is speeding up the procedures so that the deadline in arresting the suspects, that is six months maximum, will not be exceeded.
