TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo, better known as Jokowi, said that the non-toll flyover project connecting Tanah Abang and Kampung Melayu (JLNT) would be resumed. The governor said that the Jakarta Province Financial Management Agency had prepared the fund to finance the project.
"The project will be resumed," Jokowi said Saturday, April 27, based on the project's auditor recommendation.
The JLNT Tanah Abang-Kampung Melayu project was started in 2010 and targeted for completion in 2012. However, an array of problems prevented the flyover construction to meet its deadline. The Jakarta provincial government then decided to stop the JLNT Tanah Abang-Kampung Melayu project.
Manggas Rudi Siahaan, Head of the Jakarta Public Works Department, said that they will wait for the audit results by the Financial Supervision Agency (BPK) and the Development and Financial Supervision Agency (BPKP) before resuming the project.
