TEMPO.CO, Jakarta- DKI Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo, popularly known as Jokowi, says the Jakarta Monorail project still hangs on a presidential decree. The DKI Jakarta Province has no more issues for this development plan.
Jokowi revealed that the Monorail project conducted by State-owned Enterprises (BUMN) has already begun. The project involves various parties including the central government, the DKI Jakarta administration, and BUMN consortiums.
The Transportation Ministry has set two lanes for the Soekarno-Hatta airport train routes including the commuter line and express. The commuter line will pass through Tangerang and the express line will pass through Pluit.
Jokowi said construction for the airport route would begin at the end of 2013 or the beginning of 2014. The DKI Jakarta administration is still currently discussing the e-ticketing system, which will be integrated with the Buswaytickets so passengers will only need to purchase one ticket.
