TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - DKI Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo announced four programs under his administration which aim to uphold transparency principle. "The first is to put printed regional budget (APBD) in sub-districts and villages," he said on Monday.
By displaying APBD in public spaces and online, Jokowi hopes that the society will take their role in check and balance system.
The second program is Transjakarta electronic ticketing. "Just imagine the officers carrying that much money," he said, concerning the abuse of authority that may occur. The electronic system is seen as a controlling system to record the income more precisely.
The third program is the online taxation system, which aims to maximize tax revenue, as well as to monitor tax transactions.
Lastly, the Jokowi administration also opened the vacancy of sub-district head for public. Jokowi said that his administration would keep striving for a more transparent system. His administration also planned to cooperate with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
