TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - DKI Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will distribute 1,7 million new Jakarta Health Cards (KJS) today. Before this, 500,000 KJS have been distributed.
"We will distribute KJS which has electronic chips," said Jokowi. The new KJS will be distributed from the Koja community health center (Puskesmas) in North Jakarta, Kalideres in West Jakarta, and Pasar Rebo in East Jakarta.
The new KJS is able to keep medical records of the owner, making it easier for hospital and Puskesmas to track the patient's history. It will also make administrative matters easier.
The card also needs a scanner which will be put in every Puskesmas by the Jokowi administration. "We will demonstrate how it works," Jokowi added.
The KJS program was launched last year. After the policy has been implemented, society's demand for health service increased significantly, which gave a hard time to hospitals and Puskesmas due to the lack of manpower.
In the status quo, the Jakarta administration cooperates with PT Asuransi Kesehatan (Askes) to calculate the hospital claims. The cooperation uses the Indonesia Case Based Group system, where claim will be paid per package.
