TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Joko "Jokowi" Widodo admitted that he chooses to directly implement the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) policy than to do the plate number transition first. He reasoned that the implementation of ERP will add more revenue to the Jakarta Administration. The ERP itself is scheduled to be implemented early next year.
"It seems that we go straight to implement the ERP policy, we skipped the 'odd-even' plate number transition. However, we're still calculating the preparations before ERP is implemented. The ERP system is indeed ready. With this, the Jakarta Administration will get income. Whereas the odd-even plate number transition policy will have no income," uttered Jokowi at City Hall on Tuesday.
Even so, Jokowi admitted that he does not know yet how much income would the Jakarta Administration get with the ERP implementation. "This is because everything is still being calculated," Jokowi concluded.
