TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Democratic Party-Struggle (PDIP) turned out to have separate voice for Joko Widodo's running as Presidential candidate. Politic expert from Gadjah Mada University Ari Dwipayana mentioned that this is because of the uncertainity of the presidential candidate from the party.
Arie mentioned that most of Jokowi's supporters see the need of boosting their voice before April election. "In several regions where PDIP is not ruling its basis, Jokowi can play a part to increase the vote. Just as what Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono did back in 2004 and 2009," he said.
On the other hand, Ari mentioned that there are several internal members in the party favored the candidacy to be post legislative election. Such strategy is seen to be able to empower the party to not only depend on a certain singular figure.
He added that the shifting support within PDIP from Megawati to Jokowi is a positive matter for the party's dynamic, as long as it does not shift the party's personification from one person to another.
