TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State Intelligence Agency (BIN) chief Lieutenant General (ret.) Marciano Norman denied that he has tapped Jakarta Governor Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo at his house, guaranteeing that BIN will never spy on officials, such as Jokowi.
Marciano suggested Jokowi to enhance his internal security. "I have suggested Jokowi to reestablish his security," Marciano told journalists at the House of Representatives in Jakarta, on Monday, February 24, 2014.
He also calls for Jokowi to restrict his important information traffic to minimize tapping risk at Jakarta administration interior. But he refused to reveal the actor behind the espionage activity.
Earlier, Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) secretary general Tjahjo Kumolo said that Jokowi's official house at Taman Surapati was tapped.
PDI-P politician Tubagus Hasanuddin said that the tapping devices had been found three months ago. According to him the taping devices were manufactured abroad and installed by domestic individuals.
