TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is set to start his presidential campaign starting today. The popular candidate for the next Indonesian president refused to reveal his campaign strategy to the reporters who interviewed him on Saturday, March 15.
"Why are you asking that? When we are at war and reveal our strategy, we would be demolished," said Jokowi in the yard of his residence. "There's no way to reveal the strategy now."
Jokowi also refused to explain about how the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) will collect the targeted 27 percent votes. "Other people might copy it," said Jokowi again.
Before his candidacy, Jokowi was a campaigner for the 2014 General Election together with several other governors who are also cadres of PDI-P.
