TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Governor, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), claimed that the observation of Transjakarta bus procurement had escaped from the Inspectorate eyes. "It was qualified easily," he said in the City Hall, Monday, April 7, 2014.
According to him, the Inspectorate's job is to handle the control management of Transjakarta buses. But he understood that Inspectorates must supervise on tens of thousands of main budgets. "The Inspectorate also supervises 57 thousand main budgets, it is impossible to be like this. Eventhough it is too much," he stated.
Jokowi was a bit angry when being asked about this case again. "What else? Are there any other questions? You think that we follow everything? What are the others doing? Who is the responsible officials? What Mayor? Who is the planning and controlling management team?"
As reported before, Transjakarta bus procurement in the amount of Rp1 trillion was full of trouble. Several buses from China were discovered to be handicapped in spare parts. There are two official attendants from the Department of Transportation that are now becoming corruption suspects. They are Drajat Adhyaksa, Secretary of Department of Transportation, and Setyo, Head of Aquatic and Marine Transport.
