TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Joko Widodo, the presidential candidate of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) has yet unveiled the vice presidential candidate who will run with him. Joko Widodo, or famously known as Jokowi, said five candidates have been selected, but he has not revealed their names.
According to Jokowi, the five candidates will be sorted to one candidate, but the decision has yet to be made.
Jokowi said the VP candidate could be announced within a day, a week or even two weeks. The Jakarta Governor explained that a team of the PDI-P will select the candidates to be submitted to and chosen by him.
"Everything is arranged by the party," he said. "We have candidates from the PDI-P and the National Democrat Party (NasDem). Everyone will be involved in the discussion. After the names have been sorted, I will decide my choice, but not now."
