TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo claimed business climate in Jakarta had been much better than last year, which was evident in the easier and more open licensing system in the capital.
“No more illegal levies. Online building permit procurement through integrated, one-door services. I think it’s much better,” said Jokowi on Wednesday. He added this condition had ensued in higher competitiveness and productivity of businessmen.
Jokowi said good human resources were crucial to preserve the favorable business climate. “Human resources development is number one,” he said.
The Jakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) chief Eddy Kuntadi seconded Jokowi’s statement, saying the licensing system in Jakarta had improved. He added the integrated, one-door services had facilitated businessmen in the licensing process, leveraged businessmen’s competitiveness, and accelerated development in Jakarta.
The Jakarta provincial government and Jakarta Kadin have signed an agreement involving the former’s 12 working units (SKPD).
The 12 SKPDs are the Cooperative Agency, the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, the Industry and Energy Agency, the Marine and Agriculture Agency, the Tourism and Culture Agency, the Transportation Agency, the Manpower and Transmigration Agency, the Regional Government Building and Housing Agency, the Public Works Agency, the Tax Services Agency, the Integrated One Door Services, the Goods and Services Procurement Unit and the Investment Coordinating Board.
