TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Su-Yong met with president-elect Joko "Jokowi" Widodo at the Jakarta city hall earlier today. Ri Su-Yong came bringing congratulations from North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-Un for Jokowi's victory in the presidential election.
Jokowi said that North Korea wants to commit in cooperation and bilateral relationships with Indonesia. "I was invited to visit North Korea in the future," he said.
The arrival of Minister Su-Yong was only five hours after South Korean representatives came to visit Jokowi. However, Jokowi denied that he serves as a mediator in bridging the tension between the two nations.
