TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Agrarian Reform Consortium secretary general Iwan Nurdin said Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla government must be able to take actions required to solve agrarian conflicts in the first one hundred days.
“It doesn’t have to be all of them but it has to begin,” said Iwan on Monday.
The first thing that Jokowi and Jusuf Kalla have to do is establishing agrarian conflict solution agencies. “It will specialize in solving agrarian conflicts that have not been solved,” said Iwan.
One of those agencies should be special court for agrarian conflicts. “Especially with the plan to form Agrarian Ministry,” said Iwan.
Previously, president-elect Joko Widodo is planning to establish three new ministries in his government. Those new ministries are the Agrarian Ministry, the Maritime Ministry and the Population Ministry.
According to Iwan, farmers have high hopes on the establishment of agrarian conflict resolution agency. “We need justice for agrarian fighters,” he said.
The government can also plan other agrarian-related programs. “They could be distribution of agricultural lands or other things,” said Iwan.
