TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) has put forward seven of its cadres as ministerial candidates in Joko Widodo Cabinet. According to a politician of PDI-P, from those seven names, one that certain is Rini Soemarno, Industry and Trade Minister during President Megawati Soekarnoputri era.
Rini is proposed as Trade Minister. She was also previously nominated as Finance Minister and Coordinating Economy Minister. However, president-elect Joko Widodo wants those two positions to be taken by financial export and non-partisan.
Another name emerged to become Finance Minister is Bambang Brodjonegoro while World Bank managing director Sri Milyani, who is also former Finance Minister, is candidate for Coordinating Economy Minister.
Other six names from the PDI-P proposed by Megawati are projected to fill ministerial positions outside economic field. Some of those names are Pramono Anung, Tjahjo Kumolo and Hasto Kristiyanto. One of the available posts for them is State Secretariat Minister.
However, quota for the PDI-P can decrease if Jokowi can persuade other parties to join his coalition. Currently, there are 33 ministerial posts, with 15 posts for political parties.
