TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo has said that he will replace eight of his minister candidates, after receiving red labels from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Center for Financial Transaction Report and Analysis (PPATK). "If I do not replace them, who will fill in the position?" said Jokowi, as he is endorsed to look up to KPK and PPATK's recommendations in selecting ministers.
Jokowi claimed that there were eight names proposed by KPK and PPATK, yet refusing to reveal the names. The eight candidates were a part of the massive list of 43 candidates. Jokowi said that the candidates will be replaced from those on the list and outside the list.
Previously, Vice President Jusuf Kalla said that red-labeled candidates were not a part of the cabinet scheme. As for the cabinet announcement, Jokowi is yet to ensure when it is going to take place. "I want it to be quick, but correct," he said.
