TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo has instructed all ministries to cut inefficient budget. One of the budget cut is meeting and official trip budget which amounts to Rp41 trillion in 2015. “I instructed to be cut into Rp25 trillion,” said Jokowi.
According to Jokowi, the budget cut has been adjusted to official and meeting expenditures in the 2014 budget. Until the end of this year, official trip and meeting budget has only been realized at Rp22 trillion. Therefore, Rp25 trillion is deemed enough to fund official trips and meetings in all ministries next year.
Besides cutting ministries’ budgets, Jokowi has also instructed all ministries to make savings of stationery such as papers and ink. He also asked all ministries to save in using electricity and water.
Furthermore, Jokowi has instructed Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi to issue a circular letter ordering savings for all government agencies. The letter is enforced with the issuance of Presidential Instruction.
