TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – President Joko Widodo has appointed Taufiqurrahman Ruki, Indriyanto Seno Adji and Johan Budi as acting commissioners (KPK) of the Corruption Eradication Commission following the naming of KPK chief Abraham Samad and KPK deputy chief Bambang Widjojanto as suspects by the National Police.
The president said he would issue a government regulation in lieu of law regarding the appointment. “A presidential decree will be issued for the appointment,” Jokowi told a press conference at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday, February 18, 2015.
Three commissioner seats at the anti-graft body have been vacant as the National Police named Abraham and Bambang as suspects and a replacement for Busyro Muqoddas, who retired last year, has yet to be appointed.
Taufiqurrahman Ruki was the KPK chief in 2003-2007. He was an ex-cop who also used to work for the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). Indriyanto Seno Adji is a lawyer, while Johan Budi is the KPK prevention deputy.
