West Nusa Tenggara Pursue Christmas Eve Bombing Suspect

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Husaid who was allegedly involved in the Christmas Eve bombing in West Nusa Tenggara, has been listed as a fugitive. It is said that he comes from Bima Regency and has a close relationship with Amrozi, one of the Bali bombing suspects. West Nusa Tenggara Police Chief, Sutomo Tjokro Atmodjo, said on Thursday (6/2) that Husaid carried out the Christmas Eve bombing in 2000 in West Nusa Tenggara. And the planners were Dul Matina Bali bombing fugitiveand Amrozi. Husaids involvement in the West Nusa Tenggara bombing was revealed by Amrozi recently. Therefore, Husaid allegedly has a relationship with the network of Amrozi and Abdul Jabar from Dompu, West Nusa Tenggara, who recently surrendered to the police for his involvement in various bombings in Jakarta in 2000. The Police Chief said he was sure that Husaid was involved in the bombing network in various places on Chrismas Eve 2000. The Police have formed three teams search him in Jakarta, Bali, and Solo, Central Java. Coordinated by Director of Detectives at the West Nusa Tenggara Police, Senior Comissioner Wahyudi, the team has coordinated with the Jakarta Police and the Bali Police. Another team has sent to Solo to meet Husaids wife. Just wait and see the result, Sutomo said. Husaids wife, Tuti, comes from Solo, Central Java. Sutomo went on to explain that the team has also met Husaids parents-in-law in Palibelo subdistrict, Bima Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. They provided the information that Husaid has several aliases. For instance, Husaid was registered as Zainul Arifin on his marriage certificate and he introduced himself to his neighbors as Zulkifli, whereas in Solo, he is called Husaid or Usaid. One of Husaids relatives in Solo has sent a letter to his parents-in-law telling that Husaid passed away. However, the Police Chief considered this as an effort to obscure his whereabouts.
