TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, known as Ahok, was not keen to reveal in detail about his first ten days as Chief Commissioner for the state-owned energy firm Pertamina.
“Just wait for the results,” said Basuki in Solo, Central Java, on Thursday, December 5. He said that the ongoing work communication between board members, commissioners, and directors had gone smoothly.
However, he admitted that there was homework that must be overcome to optimize the company’s role. "It’s mainly about subsidies, efficiencies, and profit," said the new chief commissioner. When asked to elaborate on the details, he told reporters to "ask the board of directors."
In terms of Pertamina’s programs, Basuki mentioned that the board of commissioners will continue to push for the development of biofuel production as he believed the firm was able to answer President Jokowi’s vision to see 100 percent biofuel.
Former Jakarta Governor Ahok was appointed by State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) Minister Erick Thohir and officially took the job on November 25.
