BMKG: Stormy Rain to Hit Jakarta Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early weather warning related to the potential for lightning rain and strong winds during the day of January 20. According to the agency, 3 Jakarta regions will likely experience extreme weather, viz. South Jakarta, West Jakarta, and East Jakarta.
As published on its official website and monitored in Jakarta this morning, lightning is expected to occur on the afternoon until midnight.
"Be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in South Jakarta, West Jakarta, and East Jakarta areas in the afternoon until late at night," it wrote.
Meanwhile, local rain is expected to shower West Jakarta, North Jakarta, and Central Jakarta since Monday morning. Yet South Jakarta and East Jakarta will have sunny weather.
On Monday afternoon, the weather is expected to be cloudy in North Jakarta and Pulau Seribu or Thousand Islands when stormy rains hit South and East Jakarta.
On the night, BMKG forecasted that Jakarta's weather will turn to cloudy and the capital's temperature will be in the range of 24-32 degrees Celsius.
