Installed as ITB's First Female Rector, Reini: I Am Ready

TEMPO.CO, Bandung - The board of trustees (MWA) of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) organized Monday an open session to install its new rector, Reini Wirahadikusumah, who succeeds Kadarsah Suryadi for the 2020-2025 period. Reini is the first female to be tapped as the rector of ITB.
MWA chair Yani Panigoro installed Reini on the campus’ 100-year-old west hall. “There have been many developments, especially in terms of ITB’s rank in the global level. Hopefully this will continue in the next period,” Yani said in her speech on Monday, January 20, 2020.
Besides congratulating Reini as the first female rector of ITB, Yani said she believed Reini would be able to usher in fresh changes so as to propel the campus to the next level.
Yani also appealed to Reini to pay attention to the vision of the President and the Education Ministry, i.e. to generate quality human resources.
Reini in her speech said she pledged to take on her new responsibilities and exerted her utmost endeavors. “I accept the responsibilities to become the rector, I am all set and will do my best as shown by my predecessors,” she said.
