Ganjar Pranowo Suggests Keraton Agung Sejagat as Tourist Village

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo suggested the ex-building of a cult dubbed Keraton Agung Sejagat which means the world empire to be set as a tourism spot. As of date, many people visited the site located in Pogung Juru Tengah Village, Purworejo Regency.
Ganjar opined that the location is suitable for a tourist destination as it is adjacent to the rice fields that stretch to the west, while there is a 25-meter-long Jali River in the east.
Besides, the village is widely known to the national level so that it should be benefitted. "We can hold a monthly or annual event, for example, culinary and arts. This village has become famous," Ganjar remarked on Tuesday, January 21.
The PDIP politician visited the Keraton Agung Sejagat on Tuesday, inspecting the main building of the palace where the self-proclaimed king and queen, Toto and Fanni, live.
"This could be a tourist village," said Ganjar.
Keraton Agung Sejagat was led by Sinuhun whose real name Totok Santosa Hadiningrat and his wife, Fanni Aminadia, who proclaimed to be Kanjeng Ratu Dyah Gitarja. The number of cult followers reached around 450 people. The palace advisor Resi Joyodiningrat emphasized that the empire was not a Palace was not a deviant sect as many were concerned.
On Tuesday, January 14, Central Java Regional Police arrested the 'king and queen' on charges of fraud since they asked for money from their followers and promised them no catastrophe and a large salary.
