28 January 2020 09:24 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chairman Firli Bahuri made it clear that anyone trying to hide the whereabouts of the fugitive of bribery case Harun Masiku will face charges regarding obstruction of justice.

The former South Sumatra police chief asserts that KPK will eventually capture the individual or group that has helped protect Harun evade justice.

“We will also arrest those attempting to hide [Harun Masiku], we will also arrest them,” said Firli in a hearing with House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III at the Senayan Parliamentary Complex on Monday.

As of now, KPK has searched for the PDIP legislative candidate in South Sumatra and South Sulawesi. Both regions that are linked to Harun Masiku’s background.

“We have searched for him at his wife’s house, in-laws, or any other places. This is why I maintain that his whereabouts need to be revealed if anyone knows. Tell me and I will arrest him,” said the KPK Chairman.

Previously, DPR’s Law Commission member Benny K. Harman questioned the whereabouts of Harun Masiku and urged the anti-graft commission to find the corruption suspect as soon as possible to avoid presenting a dim image about the KPK.
