TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD DKI Jakarta) Speaker Prasetyo Edi Marsudi was non-committal when asked about the recommendations on the use of the National Monument (Monas) area for the upcoming Formula E race in the capital. He said he was in the dark as to where the race was going to take place.
“Please ask the Commission D, Mr. Pantas Nainggolan. I have no idea where Formula E is going to be held,” he said at the DPRD DKI Jakarta building in Central Jakarta, Monday, February 17, 2020.
When asked about his previous statement on the alleged manipulation of recommendations from the capital’s Cultural Heritage Expert Team (TACB) on the use of the Monas area for the Formula E race, he said nothing but smiled.
Journalists then asked him when he was going to summon Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan for clarifications. “Later, OK. Hold your horses. [The progress] is slow but sure,” the PDIP politician said.
On Thursday, February 13, Prasetyo came to the State Secretariat Ministry office. He told journalists that he suspected Anies Baswedan and his officials had forged the TACB recommendations to secure a permit for the Formula E race from the ministry as the chairman of the Medan Merdeka Area Development Steering Committee.
