TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is optimistic that he will realize his past promises to establish 200,000 new entrepreneurs and provide training before the end of his tenure in 2022. He claimed that his policies had helped create 111,000 new entrepreneurs.
“So far there have been 111,000 new entrepreneurs. We hope that it can [be achieved faster],” said Anies Baswedan at the City Hall on Friday, February 21.
Anies once promised his constituents during the 2017 Jakarta Gubernatorial Election to create 200,000 new entrepreneurs through a program popularly known as Oke Oce.
He claimed the newly-established SMEs entrepreneurs were a product of a joint effort and collaboration with multiple parties. He also said there were 13,321 entrepreneur permits issued to this day.
Anies Baswedan added over 7 thousand people have participated in the marketing facilities and 1,064 entrepreneurs had been assisted with Bank DKI’s capitals. The Oke Oce program, initially founded by former Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno, has changed its name to Jakpreneur, which was legalized under the Governor’s Regulation No.102/2018.
