TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea, Umar Hadi, said the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) and the Seoul Indonesia Investment Promotion Center are temporarily closed starting today, Feb. 28, as a preventive measure due to a confirmed case of a coronavirus patient in Yeouido.

"The Indonesian Embassy and Seoul's IIPC offices are temporarily closed starting Friday, February 28, 2020, until a later date," Umar stated in a press release received by Antara in Jakarta, Thursday, Feb. 27, saying that both offices are located on very close radius of the patient in the Yeouido area.

During the temporary closure period, KBRI and IIPC Seoul staff will work from their respective residences.

The ambassador stated that the counters providing visa, passport and consular services were also temporarily closed. The Indonesian citizens can call the hotline at +82-10-5394-2546 in case of emergency.

"The closure of this service is only temporary," umar said, as they also followed the local government policy to reduce the gathering of large numbers of people in one location at a time.

The Indonesian Ambassador together with the COVID-19 Task Force team continued to work 24 hours a day at the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul and Aju, near Daegu, to protect Indonesian citizens in South Korea.

Hotlines of the KBRI Posts in Seoul +82-10-5450-2181 and Aju +82-10-3601-9980 are opened.

Umar said extra security measures and sterilization of the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul and the Seoul IIPC office are also ongoing.
