Musician Glenn Fredly Passes Away at 44

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - An Indonesian musician and singer Glenn Fredly reportedly passed away on Wednesday, April 8. He died at the age of 44 years, forty days after his second child was born. The news was confirmed by Billboard Indonesia via its Twitter account.

“Sad news comes out of the world of Indonesian music. @GlennFredly (the musician’s Twitter account) passed away today, April 8, 2020. He took his last breath at the age of 44 years, This sad news is confirmed by Tompi. Thank you for all your work and goodbye, Glenn Fredly.” Billboard Indonesia tweeted.

About fourteen hours before her spouse died, Glenn's wife Mutia Ayu, uploaded a picture of herself and Glenn on a vacation. “When Gewa is grown-up later and understands, she will definitely say, 'Gewa is proud to be Dad’s daughter'. God always takes care of us. I love you @glennfredly309. Today marks the first forty days after Gewa is born,” said Mutia.

Through a tweet, a writer and singer Dewi Lestari also confirmed the sad news. “Deep condolences for the passing of @GlennFredly. This is truly a great loss. Rest in peace, Kak Glenn. Your works will always be with us,” Dee said.
