TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Investment Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan claimed that Indonesia is number four in the most attractive countries in the world for investments, while the number one spot is occupied by Singapore.
"Being number four is something amazing, so if people said Indonesia this and that, the proof is people still feel comfortable coming to Indonesia, number four out of 217 countries in the world," Luhut said during a talk show with RRI on Saturday, May 23, 2020.
Luhut asserted that the increasing tension between the United States and China must be seen as an opportunity for Indonesia to make friends with any country.
"[Relationship] with China is good, our relationship with the United States is also in its top condition," Luhut said.
Luhut stated that the level of communication between President Joko Widodo and President Donald Trump has been intense to discuss numerous problems, starting from Corona to investments.
"The conversation went well, I am also under the orders from the President, communicating with the White House well," Luhut said.
With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Luhut said that the government is planning to provide health equipment independently. Therefore, Luhut said that the President requested for the development of health equipment in the country to br continued.
"That is why yesterday there is the launching of nine products made domestically, and there will be more later," Luhut said.
