Minister Provides Good Internet Infrastructure

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Communication and Informatics Johnny G Plate thanked the people for not coming back to their hometown, and for gathering with their families virtually during Eid Al-Fitr.

Johnny guaranteed that digital gatherings during this year's Eid Al-Fitr will run normally with prime services. "To support the virtual gatherings, telecommunication infrastructures for internet network will continue to be maintained to ensure optimum services for the people," Johhny said on Sunday May 24, 2020.

In addition to providing a good internet network, Johnny said that the Ministry of Telecommunication and Informatics and a number of relevant stakeholders have launched a number of applications to allow the people to gather the latest information concerning Covid-19. Some of the applications are PeduliLindungi, Bersatu Lawan Covid-19 (BLC), and Healthy Soul Services (Sejiwa).

Johnny said that with the ongoing pandemic, people must continue to apply health protocols by utilizing information technology to maintain family relationships to reduce the risks of Covid-19 transmission.

According to Johnny, this year's Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr teaches a lot of new things. "We remain sincere and faithful in every situation good or bad, healthy or sick, and in time of abundance or scarcity," Johnny said.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Communication and Informatics provides free online training during the large-scale social restriction (PSBB). Johnny said that the training will be useful for the people in maintaining their knowledge and skills during the Covid-19 pandemic.
