TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 continues to rise in Indonesia amid the government's "new normal" agenda. On May 28, the country recorded 687 new positive cases.
"The total number of positive cases is 24,538. Recoveries 6,240 and deaths 1,496," Indonesia's Covid-10 Task Force spokesman Achmad Yurianto said on Thursday, May 28.
Yurianto said that the public plays an important role to curb the rate of transmission by obeying health protocols, including wearing masks, avoiding crowds, maintaining physical distances, and washing hands regularly.
These protocols, Yurianto said, are the new norms in life as no vaccine or cure has been found. He continued to say that the government is committed to "control new cases."
As per May 28, Indonesia has only tested 201,311 people.
