TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Trade Ministry issues a stipulation on operational standards in trading sectors in anticipating the 'new normal' period. The issuance is set based on the guidelines from the president regarding the social restriction (PSBB) in mitigating Covid-19, as well as keeping the supply and distribution of necessary goods.

It is overseen in circular letter SE No. 12/2020, as the recovery of trading activities during the pandemic and new normal period is needed.

“This is aimed to organize the trading activities in order to maintain supply and distribution of products and services needed by the public during the COVID-19 emergency period, as well as to implement health protocols for business organizers to help curb virus transmission,” Bisnis.com quoted the letter on Friday, May 29.

The issuance targets businesses that provide staple foods, fuel, and energy. It also targets healthcare and other facilities in order to fulfill healthcare services and tourism facilities.

These facilities include traditional markets, minimarkets, supermarkets, hypermarkets, department stores, malls, restaurants, diners, cafes, drugstores and medical equipment stores, salons/spas, entertainment places, and recreational areas such as zoos, museums, and art galleries.
