KPK Nabs 15 People in East Kutai Regent Sting Operation

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reportedly nabbed 15 people in a sting operation, known as OTT, that had also incriminated the East Kutai Regent, Ismunandar.
According to KPK, these people were allegedly involved in the graft case related to the procurement of the local government’s goods and services.
Ismunandar himself was arrested at a hotel in Jakarta while he was with his wife Encek UR Firgasih on Thursday night, July 2. The rest were arrested in East Kutai and Samarinda.
“Seven people were apprehended in Jakarta at the KPK headquarters while eight others were apprehended in East Kutai and Samarinda,” said KPK acting-spokesman Ali Fikri on Friday, July 3.
According to the KPK spokesman, Ismunandar, Encek Firgasih, and five other people are still being questioned by the Samarinda City police investigators.
