Home Affairs Minister Calls on Officials to Promote Covid-19 Health Protocols

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian encouraged the central government and regional administrations to work together in order to suppress the spread of Covid-19 infection. Tito added that although the public understands the main principles of the health protocols, President Joko Widodo had mentioned that health protocol implementation is not optimal.
"We still find members of the public not wearing face masks, nor do they often wash their hands, and social gatherings continue to take place, which leads to more infections," Tito said.
Tito also referred to President Jokowi's instruction No.6 of 2020 which calls upon controlling the spread of the pandemic and intensifying the government efforts to reach that goal.
"The central [government] will have difficulties to perform without the support of other regions," said Tito Karnavian.
