Immigration Office Closed; Onshore Visa Service Remains Open

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Directorate-General of Immigration office at Kuningan, South Jakarta, is closed for ten days on August 12-21.
The Immigration closed its central office for disinfection following 5 staff at the office was confirmed to be contracted to COVID-19.
"But the service of onshore visa application for foreigners living in Indonesia remains open," said Immigration chief of public relations Arvin Gumilang in a press release on Saturday, August 15.
According to Irvan, all of the Law Ministry employees working at the building were asked to work from home.
"The onshore visa service is done online. The officers still work to verify the submitted data by visa applicants," Irvan said.
Directorate-General of Immigration appealed to all the visa applicants to not worry and panic as the service keeps going.
"The central office of Immigration is cleaned and disinfected regularly. No one is allowed to come in, in order to cut the COVID-19 transmission chain," said Irvan.
