Anti-Child Prostitution Campaign Saves 2,700 Kids, FBI Says

TEMPO.CO, Washington - The United States authorities have managed to save 105 kids from forced prostitution along with 150 procurers in 76 cities acros the country. The Federal Investigative Bureau (FBI) said that most of the victims are young girls betwen 13 to 17 years old.
The cross country operation, which was a part of the 'Innocence Lost' campaign initiated by the FBI, saved most of the victims in San Francisco, Detroit, Milwaukee, Denver, and New Orleans.
"Child prostitution remains a persistent threat to children across the country," said Ron Hosko, Assistant Director of FBI's criminal investigation division in a news conference.
FBI claimed that the campaign has saved 2,700 kids since 2003. As many as 1,350 suspects have also been put into custody and trial, with 10 prourers having sentenced for life and a total of US$3.1 million assets have been seized.
