TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-Persipura Jayapura defender Richardo Salampessy has responded to the criticisms which highlighted the gaps among the players in the team, which is the icon of Jayapura city and Papua, resulting in a dip in performance in the Torabika Soccer Championship (TSC) 2016.
“Wow, where did you hear it? Our [Persipura players] relationships are fine,” Ricardo Salamessy said Thursday, August 4, 2016, as quoted by Antara.
According to him, anyone can give their assessments, inputs, corrections and criticisms to Persipura Jayapura. However, the management are more aware of what really happened inside the four-time Indonesian League champion, including in the technical aspects of the game.
“Let observers assess [Persipura’s condition], since it is their job to make assessment. I only want to express that the relationships within the team is good. Beyond that, on the technical aspects of the game, I have no right to comment,” Ricardo said via social media.
Earlier, former Persipura Jayapura player in the ‘70s Nico Dimo said there were gaps among the ‘Black Pearl’ players, which have affected their achievement in Torabika Soccer Championship (TSC) 2016.
“I suspect that in Persipura team, there are warring factions among the players. The unity and solidity among the players have not been as it used to be,” said Nico.
He said that the issue should be addressed by Persipura’s new head coach to achieve their initial target.
“When the new coach came in, [he] has to eliminate the warring factions. I suspect there are blocks or warring factions in Persipura. There are Boas TE Salossa and Ian Louis Kabes’ block, and also Ricardo Salampessy’s block,” he said.
