TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Quezon City Prosecutors Office in Manila has summoned four personnel of the Philippines National Police on Wednesday (16/7) in connection with the escape of Fathur Rohman Al-Ghozi and two members of the Abu Sayyaf group.
Three were summoned at 8am and the other was at 10am, National Police spokesperson Colonel Batawil told Tempo News Room by phone on Wednesday morning (16/7).
Batawil said the four officials Colonel Guillermo Donipag, Inspector James Dime, Ruperto Principe, and Ronald Palmares - were on duty when the detainees escaped.
He went on to explain the prosecutors office would also carry out an initial investigation into the involvement of the four officials.
After [holding an initial investigation], they [the prosecutors office] will decide whether the matter should be brought to court or not, added Batawil.
As reported earlier, Rohman Al-Ghozi alias Rony Zazad bin Ahmad (31), Abdulmukim Ong Edris alias Alex or Ryan (30) and Omar Opik Lasal alias Mehran Abante (31) escaped from the Crame Camp prison without damaging anything.
Batawil also stated that the Philippine government has promised a reward of eight million Peso to anybody that captures the fugitives.
This is made up of a five million Peso reward for Al-Ghozi, two million Peso for Edris, and one million Peso for Abante.
Chief of the Detection and Investigation of Crimes General Eduardo Matillano said he has mobilized all of his personnel to support the hunt throughout the Philippines.
As yet we have not received any information about where they are hiding, he said.
