TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - GoJek has issued an official statement regarding the resignation of founder and CEO Nadiem Makarim, through the firm’s Co-CEO, Kevin Aluwi Soelistyo, and Andre Soelistyo. Both Kevin and Andre agree that Nadiem’s position within the Indonesian government will have a positive impact on a vast amount of people.
Nadiem Makarim has officially resigned from GoJek, where he spent the last nine years developing, which started as a simple idea that has now turned into a business worth billions of dollars that effectively has helped create jobs for people in Southeast Asia.
As of now, GoJek has more than two million drivers across Southeast Asia and more than 400,000 business partners that have generated an annual transaction in the billions.
“Nadiem’s achievement has become an inspiration for every person at GoJek and he has left the company while it is on its top,” they said on the website.
Kevin and Andre mentioned that the change in leadership will not have a significant effect on the company’s daily operations or business growth. Apart from its ride-hailing and food delivery services, both also pledged to focus on corporate strategies, capital allocations, international expansions, and growing its payment and financial services.
