Four Children Die of Malnutrition

This year, four children in Jember have died as a result of lack of protein or malnutrition. The Dr. Soebandi Regional Hospital Public Relations officer in Jember, Judi Nugroho, said 43 patients were treated in the hospital. Out of the 43 patients, four have died, Judi said yesterday.

Malnutrition Hits 158 Children-Under-Five in Kediri

In 2008, 158 children under five in Kediri Regency were found with malnutrition. Ten of them died while the rest tried to survive with poor physical condition. We only can reduce it by 17 cases from 175 cases in 2007, head of the Health Department for Kediri, Adi Laksono, told Tempo yesterday.
