TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has grilled PDIP secretary-general Hasto Kristiyanto and Election Body or KPU commissioner Evi Novida and Hasyim Asy’ari over the bribery case of former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan.
To journalists, Evi claimed she had no idea about questions that KPK would ask. “I don’t know, I have not entered [the building] yet,” said Evi as she arrived at the KPK’s building on Friday, January 24.
Hasto had arrived earlier with a white shirt and a black suit. “Today, I fulfill my responsibility as a citizen in maintaining KPK’s dignity, present as a witness,” said the PDIP politician.
Unlike Evi, Hasto firmly stated that he came to meet into KPK’s summon and give a statement as a witness in Wahyu’s graft case.
Previously, the anti-graft body asserted that it would call in anyone suspected of being involved in the case, including Hasto. “Of course, we will summon related people [in the case] based on existing evidence,” said the KPK’s deputy head Nawawi Pomolango on Sunday, January 12.
Hasto Kristiyanto has recently come under KPK's radar given his suspicious role behind the bribery case incriminating former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan to help the suspect Harun Masiku clinching a parliament seat.
